The invention relates to a ceramic foaming aid which comprises the following components in parts by weight: 27-35 parts of silicate, 18-27 parts of water-soluble carbon black, 1-5 parts of a shaping agent, 2-8 parts of an anti-cracking agent, 2-8 parts of a gasifying agent and 30-38 parts of potassium feldspar. The preparation method comprises the following steps: grinding the raw materials into powders having the particle sizes of more than or equal to 200 meshes, and mixing the powders, thereby obtaining the ceramic foaming aid. According to the ceramic foaming aid, the gasifying agent consists of a high-temperature gasifying agent and a low-temperature gasifying agent and can realize uniform foaming when the production temperature gradually rises, the shaping agent can control the formed air bubbles with controllable sizes and uniform distribution in the process of foaming the gasifying agent like a frame, the ceramic foaming aid is used for manufacturing ultra-light thermal insulation ceramic profiles, the volume weight of a foamed ceramic product is effectively reduced, and the strength is improved.
