The invention provides an anti-pinch device and method for a flapping type leaf door of a gate. The anti-pinch device and method aim at solving the problem that a detected person is wrongly pinched by a flapping type leaf door of a gate in the prior art. The anti-pinch method includes the steps of S1, starting flapping type leaf door closing movement; S2, collecting a practical torque value of a motor in real time; S3, judging whether the practical torque value is coincident with a preset torque value or not; S4, when the absolute value of the difference between the practical torque value in the step S3 and the preset torque value is larger than a preset torque difference value, starting anti-pinch movement of the motor. The method is simple, convenient and easy to implement, responses are timely and accurate after the door is in contact with a barrier, and the personal safety and the property safety of the detected person are guaranteed.
