A dual-purpose shock absorber comprises a bottom plate and two side plates. Two ends of the bottom plate are movably connected with the bottom sides of the two side plates through rotating shafts respectively. Top sides of the two side plates are connected through a soft ceiling, a threaded connection rod is arranged between the two side plates and close to the soft ceiling, and two ends of the threaded connection rod are inserted into the inner walls of the side plates through threads respectively to enable the two side plates and the bottom plate to form a U-shaped box structure. Handles are symmetrically mounted at positions, close to the soft ceiling, of the two side plates. The dual-purpose shock absorber has the advantages of ingenious structure, convenience in use and the like.
