The invention relates to the technical field of chemical engineering building materials and especially relates to a phosphogypsum base material porcelain-imitation wall brick and a preparation method thereof. In the method, phosphogypsum, yellow phosphorus furnace slag, cement, quick lime and a porcelain-imitation coating are subjected to proper combination and match with combination of steps of material treating, material aging, base material preparation technology and paint spraying in the preparation method, wherein the specific contents of the raw material components are limited, so that a micro-biochemical reaction among the raw material components is carried out accurately, thereby promoting activation of the raw material components, increasing the activity of the raw material components and improving the performances of the raw material components, and further ensuring a prepared base material is excellent in strength and is good in heat insulation. In addition, the method allows the phosphogypsum in a large amount to be applied in the field of preparation of building materials, wherein the phosphogypsum is promoted to be mixed with the building materials in a large amount, thereby increasing the use amount of the phosphogypsum, reducing environmental pollution of the phosphogypsum and reducing the production cost of the building materials.
