The invention relates to a post cap of an upright post for a protective fence, which is applied to the top end of the upright post for the protective fence. The post cap comprises a transverse plate and a vertical plate, wherein the transverse plate and vertical plate are connected in the shape of 7; the transverse plate is connected with the vertical plate through a circular-arc-shaped transitional plate; the transverse plate is concave; the transverse plate comprises a left side edge, a bottom edge and a right side edge, which are connected in sequence; a groove structure is formed between the left side edge and the right side edge; two connecting plates which are arranged oppositely are perpendicularly arranged fixedly on the lower end surface of the transverse plate; each connecting plate is provided with at least one screw hole; the width directions of the connecting plates are parallel to the left side edge and the right side edge of the transverse plate. The post cap of the upright post for the protective fence can be attached to a lowercase-M-shaped upright post structure, is fixedly arranged at the top end of the upright post, and can be not only connected stably, but also can be convenient to disassemble and recycle.
