The invention discloses a method used for preparing sintered bricks with modified sludge. The method comprises following steps: 1) a sludge modifying agent, obtained via reaction of silicon dioxide, aluminium oxide, ferric oxide, calcium oxide, and magnesium oxide, is uniformly mixed with and reacted with sludge with a water content of 70 to 90% so as to obtain sandy clay with a water content of 40%; 2) by mass, 50 to 80% of the sandy clay, 10 to 30% of smashed building waste, and 10 to 20% of fly ash are mixed and stirred uniformly using a stirring device so as to obtain a mixture; 3) the mixture is subjected to extrusion molding and cutting so as to obtain green bricks, the green bricks are naturally dried until water content is reduced to 10 to 15%, the dried green bricks are delivered into a waste heat drying segment of a tunnel kiln for drying until water content is reduced further to 5%, and then the processed green bricks are delivered into a sintering kiln for sintering so as to obtain the sintered bricks. Performance indexes of the sintered bricks are capable of reaching quality standards of common brick MU20 grade; the sintered bricks can be used as common bricks; the method is simple; and raw materials are easily available and cheap.
