The invention discloses a method for preparing sintered bricks by dealkalizing red mud. The method comprises the following steps: performing CaO dealkalizing on red mud, performing pumping filtration to obtain a mud cake, then performing steps of fragmentation sieving, burdening, batch mixing, aging and moulding on the mud cake, and drying for sintering the material to obtain the sintered bricks. The method employs CaO for dealkalizing the red mud for brickmaking, technology is simple, processing effect is good. The method reduces harm of the red mud and alleviates dilemma of usage inhibition of clay in a sintered bricks industry, the split-resistant strength of the prepared sintered bricks is 1.72MPa, a defect size is 24.74mm, the crack quantity is 1, and no scumming condition is generated.
