The invention relates to a method for producing foam building blocks using shale as a raw material. The method is characterized in that the foam building blocks include the following raw materials in parts by weight: 70-80 parts of shale powder, 20-25 parts of boron mud, 10-15 parts of 42.5 ordinary Portland cement, 1-3 parts of a foaming agent, 0.5-1.0 part of a water reducing agent, 0.1-0.3 part of a coagulant, 0.1-0.3 part of an activator and 0.01-0.1 part of an enhancer. The foam building blocks provided by the invention have the characteristics of being low in cost, excellent in performance, stable in quality, good in strength, anti-freeze thawing, wind-erosion-resistant, anti-seismic, thermal-insulation and soundproof.
