The invention discloses a sliding window lock which comprises a housing, a base plate, a lock pin, a key, a gear mechanism and a screw mechanism. The sliding window lock is locked when a sliding window is pushed to opened and closed states, so that the sliding window can be opened and closed at any time, and no key has to be used each time opening and closing the sliding window. The sliding window when opened is locked, and a house is safe this way. Accident injury of a kid climbing outside the window can be effectively prevented, and air circulation in the house is ensured.
