The invention provides imitation stone paint for preparing imitation sandstone and a construction technology of the imitation stone paint. The construction technology comprises the procedures of closing, trowelling, flattening, overlaying and the like. Through the development of the combined imitation sandstone paint, the high simulation of imitation sandstone is realized; the new imitation sandstone technology is simple to operate and can realize large-area reproduction; and since a coating prepared according to the new technology has a thickness above 2mm and adopts ceramic sand that never fades, the problem about color durability of traditional imitation sandstone texture prepared from latex paint is solved.
