The invention relates to a salt release material and its preparation method and application. The involved salt release material comprises water glass, organic salt, a waterproof agent and a modifier. The organic salt is one or a mixture of more than two ingredients selected from alkali metal acetate, alkaline earth metal acetate, alkali metal lactate and alkaline earth metal lactate. The waterproof agent is methyl sodium silicate or methyl sodium nitrate. The modifier is any one selected from sodium dodecanesulphonate, diethanolamine and dodecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride. According to the preparation method, through an inorganic gelling technology, the organic salt particles undergo direct wet coating-dry modification to finally obtain the environmentally-friendly salt release material with hydrophobic and slow-release functions.
