The invention relates to a salt controlled-release material for roads and a preparation method and an application thereof. Raw materials for preparation of the material involved comprise blast furnace slag powder, an exciting agent, an inorganic salt, a waterproof agent and a modifier. The preparation method involved comprises the following steps: uniformly mixing slag powder, inorganic salt and the waterproof agent, adding water, ball-milling to 200-mesh slurry, solidifying by adding the exciting agent, drying a solidified body, crushing to obtain a block gel material, uniformly mixing the solid gel material and the modifier, and ball-milling to obtain a salt controlled-release powder material. The salt controlled-release material for roads can be used as a snow-melting agent. According to the preparation method, through an inorganic gelling technology, inorganic salt particles undergo direct wet coating-dry modification to finally obtain the environmentally-friendly salt controlled-release salt material with hydrophobic and controlled-release functions.
