The invention mainly relates to a technology that disqualified carbon filaments generated in the carbon fiber production process are used in a foaming gypsum composite insulation material after surface treatment, in particular to a foaming gypsum composite thermal insulation material preparation method taking a carbon fiber waste material as a strengthening term. The specific implementation of the technology is achieved through the following steps. The treating fluid is removed through centrifugation, after being washed by water to be neutral, the washed waste carbon filaments are added into a five percent ammonia-water solution and stirred for one hour, the ammonia-water solution is removed through centrifugation, the washed waste carbon filaments are washed by the water to be neutral, and then surface treated waste carbon filaments are obtained. 10 parts of the surface treated waste carbon filaments, 90 parts of gypsum powder, eight parts of aluminum sulfate, six parts of calcium carbonate, two parts of calcium stearate and 0.05 part of citric acid are taken to be mixed, then 70 parts of water is added, the mixture is stirred to be uniform, then the mixture is poured into a mold, solidification is performed for one hour at the temperature of 40 DEG C, demolding is performed after the mold is placed for 12 hours at the room temperature, and the volume weight and the mechanical property of the material are measured after being maintained for 7 days under the room temperature condition. The volume weight of the sample prepared according to the above conditions is 300 kg/m3, the heat conductivity coefficient is 0.045 W/m.k, the breaking strength is 1.25 MPa, and the compressive strength is 1.8 MPa.
