The invention discloses a crucible and a method for preparing a bismuth ferrite target with texture characteristics through the same. The crucible comprises a crucible body and a crucible cover and is characterized in that two identical holes are symmetrically formed in the side wall of the crucible body. Bismuth ferrite powder is prepared through a traditional method and briquetted to obtain a bismuth ferrite briquette; the bismuth ferrite briquette is sintered through the crucible, i,e, the bismuth ferrite briquette is placed in the crucible body, the center lines of the two holes in the side wall of the crucible body are made to penetrate through the bismuth ferrite briquette, the crucible cover is closed, and the crucible is placed in a microwave muffle furnace for sintering; grains of the bismuth ferrite briquette grow faster in the direction of the center lines of the two holes in the side wall of the crucible body, have a fixed orientation and form a texture, and then the bismuth ferrite target with the texture is obtained. The crucible is simple in structure; the bismuth ferrite briquette is sintered in an orientated mode through the crucible, and then the bismuth ferrite target with the texture is obtained; the method is simple.
