The invention relates to novel mineral powder produced by using sludge. The novel mineral powder produced by using sludge is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by mass: 40-60% of sludge and 40-60% of slag. The invention further provides a preparation method of the novel mineral powder. The preparation method comprises the following steps: firstly, uniformly mixing and stirring the sludge and slag weighed in a mass ratio by machinery for hydration reaction; then feeding the mixture into a drying kiln to be dried at 200-400 DEG C to form a novel hydrated mineral composition and a novel mineral powder product of an active vitreous body; and finally pulverizing the dried mineral powder product to form a novel mineral powder product. According to the novel mineral powder provided by the invention, the output can be improved by 50%, the electricity can be saved by 50%, and the cost can be lowered at a rate of 150 yuan/ton. The novel mineral powder provided by the invention provides a novel technical process for sludge treatment, so that the sludge is massively used, the mineral resources are saved, 90% of CO2 emission is reduced, the environment is prevented from secondary pollution, and a novel technology and a novel method for resource utilization of solid wastes are realized.
