The invention relates to a coating for sealing a continuous casting nozzle. The coating comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 55-75 percent of graphite, 15-20 percent of aluminum oxide, 3-8 percent of magnesium oxide, 3-7 percent of silicon carbide and the balance of silicon oxide. The invention also provides a preparation method and an application of the coating for sealing the continuous casting nozzle. The coating for sealing the continuous casting nozzle can be widely used for a working procedure of connecting a soaking type nozzle and a down nozzle of a tundish in continuous steel casting and reducing secondary oxidization of molten steel and has the characteristics of stability and continuity in casting.
