The invention relates to an aluminum carbon refractory material and a preparing method thereof. According to the technical scheme, firstly, 30-70wt% of corundum particles, 15-40wt% of fine corundum powder and 10-40wt% of silicon carbide-carbon composite powder serve as raw materials, the raw material of 2-6wt% of bakelite is added to the raw materials, stirring is conducted for 2-30 minutes, the raw materials are pressed into a shape, and natural drying is conducted for 24 hours; secondly, heat treatment is conducted for 8-24 hours under the condition that the temperature ranges from 110 DEG C to 300 DEG C, heat preservation is conducted for 1-12 hours at the reduction atmosphere under the condition that the temperature ranges from 1300 DEG C to 1700 DEG C, natural cooling is conducted, and then the aluminum carbon refractory material is obtained. The prepared aluminum carbon refractory material not only has good heat-conducting performance and good conductivity but also has the superior melt-corrosion-resisting performance and superior penetrating performance. The product is suitable for high-purity steel smelting production, and the additional value of the steel product can be increased.
