The present invention relates to a long rod shape insulator dip glazing method, the steps are as follows: (1) preparation of glaze slip; (2) preprocessing of a long rod shape insulator blank; (3) dip glazing, to be more specific, the preprocessed long rod shape insulator blank is hoisted by a blank lifting device, then a parachute tray or a core rod on the blank is plastered, the blank surface is wetted; the blank lifting device is adjusted, so that the blank is located above the center of a glaze pool, and rotates downward while dip glazing, the dip glazing height of the blank is controlled, the dip glazing surface of the highest place of the blank is 80 cm away from the hanging burn ceiling, after the blank reaches the dip glazing surface of the highest place, the blank stays for 10 +/-3s, then the direction of rotation is changed, the blank is lifted from the glaze pool, during the lifting process, parachute edge glaze drips are blown away while rotation of the glaze blank until the blank surface is dry and free of the liquid glaze slip; and (4) the blank is taken out of the glaze pool. Throughout the whole dip glazing process, the insulator is in a vertical state, and the insulator body rod diameter cracking and breaking phenomenon can be effectively prevented.
