The invention relates to a five-polishing-head profiling whole-section polishing device for a steel rail weld joint and a polishing method. The five-polishing-head profiling whole-section polishing device for the steel rail weld joint is characterized in that two sets of rail head polishing mechanisms, two sets of rail web polishing mechanisms and a set of rail bottom polishing mechanism are fixed to a foundation glide slope device in an integrated mode through power sliding tables in the rail head polishing mechanisms, the rail web polishing mechanisms and the rail bottom polishing mechanism respectively, so that polishing head assemblies of the rail head polishing mechanism are made to abut against the to-be-polished portion of a rail head, polishing head assemblies of the rail web polishing mechanism abut against the to-be-ground portion of a rail web, and a polishing head assembly of the rail bottom polishing mechanism abuts against the to-be-ground portion of a rail bottom; the foundation glide slop device is controlled by a foundation glide slope feeding mechanism, connected with the foundation glide slope feeding mechanism and mounted on a foundation plate assembly; laser locating detecting devices are arranged in front of and behind all polishing heads, and connected with a control device through signal lines, and the control device is in control connection with the foundation glide slope feeding mechanism. The five-polishing-head profiling whole-section polishing device is long in service life, high in automation degree, high in operability and little in needed manpower, low in environmental pollution and small in possibility that workers suffer from personal injuries.
