The invention belongs to the field of refractory materials for converter flue discharge chutes in iron and steel industry, and particularly relates to a converter flue discharge chute repair material and a preparation method thereof. The repair material contains 20-45% of fused magnesite with the particle size of 1-3mm, 5-15% of zirconite with the particle size of 1-3mm, 15-25% of forsterite with the particle size of 0-3mm, 3-10% of andalusite with the particle size of 0-1mm, 5-20% of kaolinite with the particle size of 0-1mm, 4-10% of vermiculite with the particle size of 80-120 meshes, 2-10% of refractory clay with the particle size of less than 0.1mm and 1-6% of alpha-Al2O3 micropowder with the particle size of less than 0.088mm. The repair material has the advantages of low cost, high temperature resistance, friction resistance, high constructability, high erosion resistance and the like, can be used for repeated repair, can be firmly combined with the discharge chute castable, and can be used for repairing the damaged converter discharge chute so that the converter discharge chute can be reused, thereby prolonging the service life and lowering the production cost.
