The invention provides a dedicated hoop for prepressing a steel truss and a method for prepressing the steel truss. The hoop comprises angle iron I, angle iron II, a stripped steel plate I and a stripped steel plate II. The stripped steel plate I and the stripped steel plate II in the length direction are both perpendicular to the horizontal plane, and are positioned on the same plane. A through hole I is formed in the lower end of the stripped steel plate I. A through hole II is formed in the lower end of the stripped steel plate II. The angle Iron I and the angle iron II in the length direction are both parallel to the horizontal plane. One edge of the angle iron I is parallel to the horizontal plane, and the other edge of the angle iron I is perpendicular to the horizontal plane.
