The invention discloses a maintenance reinforcement method of a steel bridge structure, and belongs to the technical field of steel bridge structures. The method comprises the following steps: performing sandblasting on the surface of a new component, spraying a coating to form a first friction coating layer; performing sandblasting on the existing component to make the thickness of the coating layer on the connection friction surface of the existing component thinner to form a second friction coating layer in a thickness of 100-200 Mum; and connecting and fixing the new component and the existing component by a bolt. The second friction coating layer in the thickness of 100-200 Mum is formed through sandblasting, and the second friction coating layer is bunted against the connection friction surface of the new component to provide better connection friction surface structure. It is not necessary to completely clear up the coating layer of the connection friction surface of the existing component and spray the coating again, the construction time is shortened, the waste in abrasive and the pollution of the cleared-up coating to the environment during the sandblasting process are reduced, and the reduction of the production cost and the increase in the economic benefit are facilitated.
