The present invention provides an improved formula of expansive soil, wherein the raw materials comprise, by weight, lime, weathered sand, expansive soil, water and Xinjiang cinder. The construction process comprises: taking lime and weathered sand or Nanjing red sand, adding water, and uniformly stirring; carrying out material enclosing on the stirred lime and weathered sand or Nanjing red sand mixing material for 12 h under a standard condition, incorporating the mixing material into expansive soil, adding water, and uniformly stirring; paving the mixture by using an ash soil paver according to the loose paving thickness of each layer of not more than 30 cm, and rolling; and carrying out moisturizing curing for about seven days so as to complete the construction process. According to the present invention, the multiple improvement effects are provided, the optimal improvement effect can be achieved when the lime doping amount is small, and the price of the weathered sand is low so as to save the project investment.
