The invention discloses an improved expansive soil side slope. The improved expansive soil side slope comprises a side slope base body and an expansive soil layer, wherein a planting layer is arranged on the upper portion of the expansive soil layer, and protection walls are arranged on the two sides of the side slope base body and the expansive soil layer; a plurality of sets of hexagonal planting seats are arranged at the planting layer, and planting areas are arranged inside the hexagonal planting seats; rainwater grooves are formed in the peripheries of the upper ends of the planting seats, and drainage holes are formed in the lowest positions of the rainwater grooves; and a plurality of sets of concrete cross beams are transversely poured on the uppermost portion of the expansive soil layer. According to the improved expansive soil side slope, water storage bags are designed to receive a large amount of rainwater, wing parts are expanded in volume and unfolded to cover expansive soil at the lower layer, the volume of the expansive soil at the lower layer is increased due to expansion and softening caused by the rainwater, but due to pressure given by the gravity of the water in the wing parts at the upper portion, large-area upward expansion of the expansive soil is restrained, therefore, the protection effect is achieved, a protection structure is built through natural resources, and environmental protection is achieved.
