The invention discloses a pier column construction method and a pier column template. The pier column construction method comprises the following steps: firstly, intensely processing and manufacturing hoops and framework ribs as steel bar semi-finished products in a factory, meanwhile conducting bearing platform construction, conveying the steel bar semi-finished products to a construction site, binding into a pier column steel bar cage, conducting integral hoisting, then mounting a pedestrian crawling ladder and an operating platform, and then finishing pier column concrete pouring. The pier column template comprises first relative plates and second relative plates, the splicing parts of the two side edges of the first relative plates and the second relative plates adopt the bent design, and the first relative plates and the second relative plates are fixed through diagonal draw bars. Through the improvement of the conventional pier column construction process, the pier column construction method provided by the invention has the characteristics of improving construction efficiency, shortening construction period, reducing material loss, controlling construction quality, being high in safety, decreasing cost and increasing benefit.
