The invention discloses a soil slope protecting structure and a protecting method thereof. The soil slope protecting structure comprises a soil slope body. A temporary protecting body is arranged on the outer surface of the soil slope body. The temporary protecting body is a temporary protecting surface which is formed by laying a plurality of stone steel reinforcement cages. Concrete is poured on the outer sides of the stone steel reinforcement cages. The stone steel reinforcement cages and the concrete are combined into a whole to form a permanent support. Each stone steel reinforcement cage is composed of a reinforcing mesh box body and aggregated rock arranged in the reinforcing mesh box body. A reinforcing mesh cover body is further arranged at the top of each reinforcing mesh box body. The concrete is high-flowability self-compacting concrete. The protecting method comprises the steps that the soil slope is dug, the temporary protecting body is constructed, and the concrete is poured. According to the soil slope protecting structure and the protecting method thereof, temporary protection of the slope is changed into permanent protection of the slope, in this way, the temporary safety of the soil slope can be guaranteed, and the permanent support can be directly formed by pouring the high-flowability self-compacting concrete under the condition that the stability of the soil slope and the personnel safety are effectively guaranteed.
