The invention discloses a portable safety ladder which comprises ladder bodies (1) on two sides, wherein a plurality of chain groups (2) are arranged between the ladder bodies (1) on the two sides; and each chain group (2) is composed of two parallel chains. According to the safety ladder, the chains are used for being stepped; the safety ladder is convenient to carry after the ladder bodies on the two sides are held together; when a user climbs the ladder after unfolding the safety ladder, the user can place feet on one chain of one chain group, with insteps pressed against another chain of the chain group, so that foot slippage can be effectively avoided; and the feet are fastened between the two chains, so that the safety is high.
