The invention relates to a safety device for vehicle door opening and belongs to the field of vehicle components. The safety device comprises a lock catch device and a lock head device, wherein the lock catch device is arranged on the lower side of one edge of a door lock on the inner side of a vehicle door, and the lock head device is arranged in the position, opposite to the lock catch device, of a vehicle door edge in a vehicle body. The lock catch device comprises a lock catch body and a rotation mechanism. The lock head device comprises a limiting belt, wherein one end of the limiting belt is fixed and wound inside, and the other end of the limiting belt is connected with a lock head. The lock head right faces the lock catch body. After the door is closed, the lock head is inserted into the lock catch body to be locked tightly. When the door is opened, a door slot is limited within the length range of the limiting belt through the limiting belt. The vehicle door can be opened fully as long as the tightly-locked lock head is opened. The safety device is arranged in a vehicle so that traffic accidents can be reduced.
