The invention discloses a novel hollow or composite building block utilizing industrial residue and building waste. The inside of the building block is of a symmetric T-shaped hollow structure, the hollow structure can be filled with a heat-insulating material, and a base material portion is recycled aggregate concrete utilizing the industrial residue and the building waste. The novel hollow or composite building block has the advantages that hole type structure of the building block is optimized, the novel hollow or composite building block is simple in hole form and convenient for production, thermal performance of the building block is improved, and energy conservation and environment protection are better; a recycled material is adopted as the base material, so that utilization rate of waste resources is increased; excellent mechanical performance of the building block is guaranteed due to reasonable structure design; porosity rate is 50-62%, and the novel hollow or composite building block has the advantages of material conservation, light weight, high anti-permeability, short construction period and low cost; holes can be filled with an organic heat-insulating material or foamed concrete according to standard requirements on energy conservation of buildings in different areas, so that the novel hollow or composite building block is high in adaptability.
