The invention discloses a reinforcing structure for reinforcing a concrete column and a construction method of the reinforcing structure. The reinforcing structure for reinforcing the concrete column comprises a reinforcing outer cylinder surrounding the to-be-reinforced concrete column, wherein a concrete filling space is formed between the reinforcing outer cylinder and the to-be-reinforced concrete column, concrete fills the concrete filling space to form a concrete layer, and the reinforcing outer cylinder comprises at least two reinforcing shells connected by connectors. The reinforcing structure has the advantages that the reinforcing shells can be reliably and tightly connected through the connectors to form the reinforcing outer cylinder, the bearing capacity and deformation resistance of the to-be-reinforced concrete column can be increased greatly by the annular constraint action of the reinforcing outer cylinder to the core area of the to-be-reinforced concrete column, and accordingly the earthquake resistance of the concrete column can be improved; the reinforcing structure can be used for reinforcing components which need to increase the bearing capacity greatly.
