Method for preparing fibrous magnesium hydroxide through hydration of magnesium oxide
The invention relates to a method for preparing fibrous magnesium hydroxide through hydration of magnesium oxide. The method comprises the following concrete steps: calcining natural magnesite so as to prepare light calcined magnesia; adding a modifier into ethanol and carrying out ultrasonic dispersion so as to prepare a modifier solution; uniformly mixing light calcined magnesia, a magnesium salt, water and a dispersant in a mass ratio of 1: (0.02 to 4.5): (10 to 100): (0.03 to 0.5) with the modifier solution so as to obtain a suspension, subjecting the suspension to a stirring reaction in a constant-temperature water-bath for 2 to 6 h and then adding a seed crystal and an activator; and carrying out ageing so as to obtain the fibrous magnesium hydroxide. The method provided by the invention has the advantages of easiness, practicability, low production cost, high product purity, easily controllable reaction conditions, suitability for industrial production, and conservation of energy due to usage of low-temperature hydration.
