The invention discloses a mechanical ventilation device and method for an underground stereo garage. The device comprises externally-hung exhausting shafts arranged on the overall two sides of the underground stereo garage and a ground garage and exhaust fans arranged in the externally-hung exhausting shafts. A garage bottom air duct communicated with the externally-hung exhausting shafts on the two sides is arranged at the bottom of the underground stereo garage. The portions, opposite to the ground garage, of the externally-hung exhausting shafts are provided with ground air outlets. Under the effect of the exhaust fans, outdoor air flows through the ground garage into the underground stereo garage, and after reaching the garage bottom air duct, the air flows into the externally-hung exhausting shafts and is exhausted through the ground air outlets. By the adoption of the device and method, under the automobile taking and parking working condition or the automobile taking and parking waiting working condition, the peculiar smell in the underground stereo garage can be effectively diluted and exhausted rapidly, the influences caused by harmful gas in the underground stereo garage on persons going in and out of the underground stereo garage can be effectively reduced, and the environment temperature of equipment such as transformers in the underground stereo garage is remarkably reduced.
