The invention provides a box type steel pier capable of being repaired quickly in situ during earthquake damage. The box type steel pier comprises a bearing platform arranged at the lower part of a foundation and a box type steel pier body above the bearing platform, wherein a connecting steel column is arranged in the box type steel pier body; the connecting steel column is fixedly mounted on the bearing platform, and a plurality of mild steel dampers are arranged on the outer side surface of the connecting steel column; each mild steel damper is provided with a plurality of mild steel plates with elastic deformation. The mild steel dampers are arranged in the box type steel pier body, the mild steel plates are used as energy consumption plates of the mild steel dampers. Due to relative good plasticity, cutting yield can be generated, and a great deal of earthquake energy can be absorbed, the box type steel pier can be well protected from being damaged, and the shock resistance is good; besides, the mild steel plates are dismountable, after a strong earthquake, the damaged mild steel plates can be taken out to be replaced with intact mild steel plates, so that the quick repair of the box type steel pier after the earthquake is realized.
