The invention relates to a fireproof gunning material for working lining of foundry ladle and a preparation method thereof. The fireproof gunning material is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 20 to 50 parts of sintered mullite, 5 to 30 parts of pyrophyllite, 10 to 25 parts of black silicon carbide, 8 to 15 parts of fused white corundum, 5 to 12 parts of pure calcium aluminate cement, 5 to 8 parts of calcined alumina micropowder, 3 to 10 parts of expanding agent, 2 to 4 parts of sericite powder, 1 to 5 parts of silica micropowder, 1 to 3 parts of antioxidant, 0.05 to 0.2 part of organic anti-crack fiber, and 0.2 to 0.3 part of composite high efficient water reducer. The provided fireproof gunning material has the advantages that the construction and maintenance periods are largely shortened, the labor strength for the workers during construction and maintenance is reduced; moreover, the quick sintering performance of the gunning material is good, the combination strength is high, the gunning material can also resist high temperature molten steel washing and iron slag erosion and has thermal shock resistance; the service life of working lining of foundry ladle is effectively prolonged, the production safety is guaranteed therefore, and the comprehensive operation cost of working lining of foundry ladle is reduced.
