The present invention provides a thermal gunning mix for torpedo ladle and a preparation method thereof, and aims at resolving the problem of high brittleness and easiness to crack of the thermal gunning mix for torpedo ladle in the prior art. The method is as below: mixing 3-5mm high-alumina bauxite, 1-3mm high-alumina bauxite, 0-1mm silicon carbide, high-alumina bauxite no greater than 200 mesh, calcium aluminate cement, flake graphite powder, resin powder, asphalt powder no more than 180 mesh, explosion-proof fiber and silicon nitride aluminum to obtain a mixture a; adding water and stirring uniformly to obtain a mixture b; and conducting gunning construction on the mixture b. The invention can realize online thermal gunning of torpedo ladle; the thermal gunning mix does not burst in the construction process, and can firmly adhere to the original liner; the sprayed layer formed by the gunning mix has good corrosion resistance and good integrity; the overall structure strength and the bonding strength between new and old liners can ensure that the spraying layer is not destroyed during slag removal, so as to effectively increase the turnover rate of torpedo ladle and prolong the service life of the torpedo ladle.
