The invention relates to a perforated brick and a preparation process thereof. The perforated brick includes the following components, by mass: 40-55 parts of shale, 20-35 parts of peat, 15-25 parts of coal ash, 5-10 parts of cement, 2-6 parts of a plant material, 1-2 parts of a deodorant, and 1-2 parts of a pore-forming agent. The preparation process includes the steps of treatment of raw materials, addition of materials, stirring, moulding, pore forming, shape finishing, and firing. The brick is strong and durable, is more smooth and beautiful in appearance and has a plurality of pores and some large holes, so that the brick is good in heat insulation and is light in weight and has important application value in practical process. The preparation process is uniform in raw material feeding, allows fire in kiln to be controlled more easily and can save labor time and labor cost.
