The present invention relates to a lightweight fiber fireproof coating material and a preparation process thereof, wherein the coating material comprises, by weight, 20-40% of fireproof fibers, 15-35% of high aluminum cement, 5-25% of high bauxite powder, 5-15% of burnable substance powder, and 1-5% of a binder, the mixture obtained according to the weight ratio is added with water, stirring is performed according to the specific preparation process, and the obtained mixing material can be subjected to coating construction. According to the present invention, the lightweight fiber fireproof coating material has characteristics of high durability, excellent thermal insulation property, low thermal conductivity, low heat capacity, good thermal stability, and strong cold-hot impact resistance; the preparation process is simple, and especially when the complex member is built, no gap is left; the adhesion is excellent, and the direct construction in any angles can be performed on the anchor-free flat steel plate, and no bounce is generated after the adhesion; and the special binder is added so as to improve the use strength and meet the use requirement of the part having high thermal insulation and high strength requirements.
