A gauging rule absolute positioning device comprises a total station and a gauging rule. The gauging rule is composed of a rule body, a fixed end, a movable end and a prism. The fixed end and the movable end are arranged at the two ends of the rule body respectively, a prism fixed frame is arranged at the center position of the rule body, and the prism is mounted on the prism fixed frame; a small collecting column is arranged on the rear portion of the prism, a small matched hole is formed in the prism fixed frame, and the small collecting column is in thread fit with the small matched hole; the fixed end is composed of a fixed end block and a fixed end protruding block, and the fixed end protruding block is arranged on the inner side of the lower portion of the fixed end block; and the movable end is composed of a movable end block and a movable end protruding block which is mounted on the middle portion of the lower face of the movable end block, and the distance d between the center of the prism and the outer side edge of the protruding block is equal to 300 mm to 785 mm. The gauging rule absolute positioning device is simple in structure, convenient to use, easy to operate and convenient to carry.
