The invention discloses an assembled type friction energy dissipater and an installing method. The assembled type friction energy dissipater is installed between an upper beam (1-1) and a lower beam (1-2), a first fixing plate (1-3) is installed on the bottom face of the upper beam (1-1), a second fixing plate (1-4) is installed on the top face of the lower beam, and the metal friction energy dissipater is installed between the first fixing plate (1-3) and the second fixing plate (1-4). The friction energy dissipater comprises a first portion and a second portion; the first portion comprises afirst gear (2-1), a second gear (2-2) and a first vertical plate (2-3), and one side of the first vertical plate (2-3) is provided with tooth ripples; and the second portion comprises a third gear (3-1), a fourth gear (3-2) and a second vertical plate (3-3), and one side of the second vertical plate (3-3) is provided with tooth ripples. According to the assembled type friction energy dissipater,the friction energy dissipation effect of a frame structure can be improved.
