The invention relates to the technical field of soil and water conservation in farmland, in particular to a long sloping farmland wide-surface terraced field for ridge culture and a construction method thereof. The long sloping farmland wide-surface terraced field includes water retaining ridges, catchment channels and at least one slope section unit; and the water retaining ridges are arranged onthe edge sides of the slope section units along the length direction of the slope section units, the catchment channels are arranged on the end sides of the slope section units along the width direction of the slope section units, and the end surfaces of the soil surfaces of the water retaining ridges are higher than the height of the soil surfaces at connection points between the slope section units and the water retaining ridges. The multiple slope section units are arranged to shorten the slope length, the erosion dynamics is reduced, and the functions of water management and corrosion reduction are realized; the water retaining ridges are arranged, convex slope sections shaped like wave crests are used for intercepting the confluence slope length to intercept the surface upslope waterand sand, concave slope sections shaped like wave troughs promote runoff infiltration, and sediment deposition is increased; and the catchment channels are arranged to collect and drain rainwater intime, the erosion of rainwater on the wide-surface terraced field is reduced, and the water and soil erosion is reduced.
