The invention discloses a construction method for changing a hilly land into a terraced field. The construction method comprises the following steps that S1, a mountain base line is marked; s2, stone-soil separation equipment is used for cutting soil step by step and separating stone and soil, specifically, broken stone falls into the position below the slope to be backfilled to form a terrace foundation face, fine soil is placed on the terrace foundation face and spread flat to be used for planting crops, and large stone is used for manual slope fixing; s3, a nutrition barrel containing humus is arranged, the humus makes contact with original soil of the mountain land, and the forest trees can take roots conveniently; s4, arrangement of water storage ditches: digging the water storage ditches in the base part of the terraced field, and backfilling the water storage ditches with broken stones. According to the invention, the stone-soil separation machine with large soil consumption is utilized to carry out step-by-step sorting, so that the construction of the terraced field can be completed at one time; the water storage ditches at the base part of the terrace are used for storing water and gravel at the middle lower part of the terrace seeps water, so that rainwater surface runoff can be effectively prevented and reduced, water and soil loss is reduced, and soil moisture conservation and slope protection are realized.
