The invention discloses a water stop device and a mounting method thereof. The water stop device comprises a first U-shaped plate, a second U-shaped plate, a first pull rod, a second pull rod, a mainsupporting piece, secondary supporting pieces, a base plate, clamping pieces and a water stop piece, wherein the top flanges and the bottom flanges of the first U-shaped plate and the second U-shapedplate are connected with the front face of the main supporting piece, and the first U-shaped plate and the second U-shaped plate are connected through a bolt; the secondary supporting pieces are arranged on the back face of the main supporting piece, the clamping pieces are connected with the secondary supporting pieces, and the first pull rod and the second pull rod penetrate through the first U-shaped plate, the second U-shaped plate and the clamping pieces respectively; and the first pull rod and the second pull rod are connected with the main supporting piece and arranged between the auxiliary supporting pieces, and the water stop piece is arranged above the first U-shaped plate and connected with the lower portion of the second U-shaped plate through the base plate. According to the water stop device and the mounting method thereof, it can be guaranteed that the buried water stop belt is centered, firm and straight, and a bottom waterproof layer is not damaged.
