The invention provides a low tenon foundation gravity retaining wall and a construction method thereof, and relates to the building construction technology. The low tenon foundation gravity retainingwall comprises multiple prefabricated members, multiple upper foundation parts and a lower foundation. The multiple prefabricated members are used for being spliced to form a wall, the bottom face ofthe wall is provided with first limiting structures, and the prefabricated members comprise first prefabricated blocks with longitudinal sections being in L shapes. The multiple upper foundation partsare used for being spliced to form an upper foundation so as to bear the wall, the top face of the upper foundation is provided with second limiting structures which are used for cooperating with thefirst limiting structures so as to limit relative displacement of the wall and the upper foundation, and the bottom face of the upper foundation is provided with third limiting structures. The lowerfoundation is used for bearing the upper foundation, the top face of the lower foundation is provided with fourth limiting structures which are used for cooperating with the third limiting structuresso as to limit relative displacement of the upper foundation and the lower foundation, the bottom face of the lower foundation is used for being attached to the foundation surface, and the width of the bottom face of the lower foundation is not smaller than the width of the wall. According to the low tenon foundation gravity retaining wall and the construction method thereof, the problems that inthe retaining wall, construction is difficult, and the construction period is long are solved.
