The invention belongs to the technical field of photovoltaic materials, and discloses a photovoltaic pavement material and a preparation method thereof. The photovoltaic pavement material provided bythe invention is prepared from the following components in percentage by mass: 8-15% of a resin compound and initiator, 68-78% of broken organic glass or transparent quartz sand grains, 10-12% of light-transmitting PC granules and 4-5% of glass fibers, wherein the resin compound comprises the following components in parts by mass: 60-75 parts of a saturated polyester resin, vinyl ester resin or hydrogenated bisphenol A epoxy resin, 10-25 parts of a transparent organic silicon resin, 10-16 parts of a low-shrinkage additive, 1-3 parts of a fiber infiltration aid, 2-4 parts of a plasticizer, and0.5-1.5 parts of an ultraviolet stabilizer. When the material provided by the invention is used for preparing a photovoltaic pavement, the problems of insufficient light transmittance, poor wear resistance, poor skid resistance, poor bearing performance, difficulty in laying, high cost and the like can be simultaneously solved.
