The invention relates to a metal and composite laminated damper. The metal and composite laminated damper comprises a metal tube and connecting pieces correspondingly located at two ends of the metaltube, grooves are formed in the two connecting pieces, the end parts of the metal tube are fixedly and hermetically arranged in the grooves, the metal tube is filled with a plurality of viscous-elastic material layers and a plurality of rigid material layers, and the viscous-elastic material layers and the rigid material layers are sequentially and crosswise arranged up and down. The metal and composite laminated damper is a novel combined type metal damper, joint energy dissipation is achieved by using multiple energy dissipation mechanisms, the energy dissipation mechanisms are definite, andvarious energy dissipation capacities are achieved; the yield displacement is small, and the ductility performance is excellent; the performance is stable, and the energy dissipation efficiency is high; and installation and disassembly are convenient, and the arrangement is flexible.
