The assembly type metal composite damper has the beneficial effects that the energy dissipation capacity of the damper can be remarkably improved, and installation and fixation are convenient; and the shearing plates and the constraint steel plates are connected by adopting the pre-tightening bolts in cooperation with elastic pieces, stable connecting force can be provided in the relative sliding process of the shearing plates and the constraint steel plates, and therefore the shearing plates and the constraint steel plates can carry out friction energy dissipation through stable contact friction force.
