The invention discloses a method for preparing a polycarboxylate water reducer from a C6 monomer, and relates to the technical field of concrete admixtures. The method comprises the following steps: (1) adding deionized water and an ether C6 monomer into a reaction kettle, and stirring; (2) preparing a material A; (3) preparing a material B; (4) dropwise adding the material A, the material B, an ester C6 monomer and an oxidizing agent into the reaction kettle in the step (1) at the same time; and (5) dropwise adding alkali liquor into the reaction kettle in the step (4), and adjusting the pH value to 7 to obtain a target product. The polycarboxylate water reducer has the beneficial effects that the polycarboxylic acid water reducer is prepared by taking the ether C6 monomer and the ester C6 monomer as raw materials through reactions, and through the synergistic effect of the raw materials, the prepared water reducer is greatly improved in the aspect of water reducing performance, and also has a good performance in the aspects of mud resistance, collapse prevention, adaptability and the like.
