The invention discloses a cooking electric appliance and a locking mechanism thereof. A switch assembly, a limiting assembly and a locking assembly are included. The limiting assembly comprises a first moving piece and a first elastic resetting piece used for making the first moving piece reset, and the first moving piece is provided with a first limiting portion; the locking assembly comprises asecond moving piece and a second elastic resetting piece used for making the second moving piece reset, and the second moving piece is provided with a second limiting portion used for being in limiting cooperation with the first limiting portion, and a first locking portion used for being in locking cooperation with a limiting piece in a box body; the first moving piece can move to make the firstlimiting portion separated from the second limiting portion under the effect of the switch assembly; the first moving piece can move to make the first limiting portion in limiting cooperation with thesecond limiting portion under the effect of the first elastic resetting piece; and the second moving piece can move under the effect of the second elastic resetting piece, so that the first locking portion is in locking cooperation with the limiting piece. The locking mechanism can solve the scalding problem caused by mistaken door opening.
