The invention discloses a preparation method of graphene toughened ceramic. The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing graphene oxide and zirconium oxychloride in a solvent to obtaina mixed precursor solution; adjusting the pH value of the mixed precursor solution to be greater than 7; carrying out solid-liquid separation on the alkaline mixed precursor solution, and conductingcollecting to obtain a precipitate; carrying out a hydrothermal reaction on the precipitate; and sintering a product obtained after the hydrothermal reaction. The invention also discloses the graphenetoughened ceramic.
