The invention discloses a rail changing machine wheel, a rail changing machine and a rail finding method. The rail changing machine wheel comprises a hub, a wheel groove is formed in the outer circumference of the hub, a low wheel flange is arranged on one side of the wheel groove, and a high wheel flange is arranged on the other side of the wheel groove; and the high wheel flange has a certain width and is used for walking on the ground. The rail changing machine comprises a walking clamping assembly and rail changing machine wheels. The rail changing machine wheels are installed at the frontwheel position and the rear wheel position of the walking clamping assembly. The rail finding method comprises the steps that the walking clamping assembly transversely moves inwards; the low wheel flange and the wheel groove of the rail changing machine wheel pass through the upper portion of the rail, and the high wheel flange of the rail changing machine wheel makes contact with the side faceof the rail to achieve the rail finding function. The wheels are installed on the rail changing machine, and the functions that the rail changing machine walks on a rail, walks on the flat ground andtransversely aligns the rail before clamping can be achieved.
